Changes

I know many of you out there have experienced the life of the military or at least know a lot about it, but I just have some thoughts.

It is not an average life.  The life of a military family never gets to be content or become boring.  The one thing that takes getting used to is the ever changing changes that is the military.  Just when you think you may have it figured out, they change it.  Lately everyone that is related to the military is complaining about the changes; the changes in the healthcare, the tuition assistance being cut, etc.  Even though the changes seem to be permanent, we don't know that for sure because you don't know anything for sure when you are dealing with the military or the government. You could wake up tomorrow and they change it back.

Today is the day Q comes home.  But, at one point we thought it could have been last Wednesday or Thursday, then we thought it was yesterday, but it ended up being the original date of today.  Now we need to speak of the time of day.  There was a plane that arrived last night (Q was supposed to be on that), then there was a flight arriving at 1am (which was changed to 4-5am), then there is the main body flight tonight (which Q is on) that was arriving at 5:30pm, but this morning they told us 8-9pm is ETA, now it is between 5-6pm!!! Make up your mind!!!!!!!!! This is craziness.

Another thing, to all those people out there posting pictures of St. Patty's day celebrations with your significant others..... GOOD FOR YOU! I am extremely jealous. I am jealous that 95% of those people get to see their counterpart every day or whenever they choose.  I hope those people don't take that time together for granted because to have that taken away is brutal.  I wish I had the choice to see Q every day.  I wish I got to dictate whether we spend holidays together or if we don't.  I wish I could wake up and not have anxiety about what is to come and when are they taking him away from me again.

Some days I get tired of being the only one home with a puppy that needs a lot of attention (I can't imagine having a kid too) or the only one to clean, go grocery shopping, do the dishes, cook dinner, etc.  Some days I wish my best friend was here to talk to whenever I wanted.  Some days I wish I had my life long friends from home to spend time with instead of feeling more and more distant as time passes by.  Some days I wish my family was just a drive down the street when I need them instead of a 12 hour car ride; sometimes phone calls are just not enough.

I don't want to seem like I hate this lifestyle because I don't.  Is it my first choice in life? No! But, I do love all the people that I get to spend each day with.  I enjoy all my friends that are going through the same thing I am each day.  Sometimes I just need to vent, and today is one of those days.
