Very Boring Lately

Having this blog sometimes makes me think, "wow we have been very boring lately."  I have sat down many times wanting to blog and nothing comes to me.  I feel like there has been a lot of little things happening but nothing that has triggered me to blog, yet.

So I bring to you more beach photos.  Cali had so much energy built up inside last week that on Friday when we had decent weather (still a little cold), I took her down to the beach and she just ran, dug, and played.  It was so relaxing and therapeutic for me.  I'm not sure what I would do without this little girl.

Changes in life

When I think back to this time last year, it almost scares me to think of all the things that have changed in our lives.  I would have to say that most of them are for the better and have made our current situation something we are very proud of. Just thinking of our times together and apart, it just makes me feel so happy and blessed that this is what I have in my life.  I would not change any of it for the world.

Job!!!

I finally can say that I have a job! Even though I have not been super proactive at getting a job, I did feel like I wanted to make a contribution and do something with my time.  My job is with the Single Marine Program.  For you that don't know, this program targets the marines that do not have a family here on base or nearby.  It is also a program that is for marines that want to participate in volunteer opportunities as well as going on fun trips. They help with Habitat for Humanity, local animal shelters, and other local events.

My job is going to consist of working at the SMP main office, the Roadhouse, where they serve food, have pool tables, volleyball courts, TVs, computer access, coffee shop.  I will assist with payments of the facilities as well as socializing with the marines that come in.  I will also be directing some of the trips and events that are planned; some are one day events and some are overnight trips.  Some of the really great trips coming up this year that I hope to get the opportunity to go on are white water rafting trip in June or July, Charleston (<3) trip in June, Gatlinburg trip in July, Boston trip in September, Bobcat basketball games in Charlotte, just to name a few.  This is a great opportunity to maybe travel to places and do things I've never done before which I'm super excited about.  And did I mention, I get paid to go on these trips... and Q has the opportunity to go with me as well! :)

Loving the shower

I have mentioned before how weird Cali is when we take showers.  No matter if its Q or I in the shower, she lays right outside of the shower on the bathmat.

Q loves to talk to her while he is in the shower and she usually puts her front paws up on the side of the tub and licks the water.  Well, the other day, I was drying my hair while Q showered and I look over and this is what I saw....

She is so crazy.  She wanted to be in the shower with him so bad! The ledge she was standing on is probably only 4-5 inches wide.  Her little butt did fall in the tub and got stuck so here I come, mom to the rescue.

Then she gets a pitiful face when you tell her to get down.  You would have thought the world had ended with the face she gave me.

You have to love the cute, furry thing that she is!

New Ride

A couple weeks ago now, we bought a new car!  This is the first NEW car that Q and I have ever had and it is pretty cool.

I love being able to drive and not have a fear of what may happen.  I think it looks good on me.  What do you think?

When we went to the dealership and I saw that the car was black-on-black, I knew it was the car I wanted.  For a long time now, I have been wanting a black-on-black car and I have to say, I am pretty excited about it.  I know that everyone says it shows dirt but I don't care, I really like it.

It is a 4 cylinder but it has so much more pick up and go than my last accord.  Sad news that old accord is gone and it was a super great car for my family and for me the last 4ish years.  It will be greatly missed, that's for sure.

We took our first road trip in the new car this past weekend and it definitely worked out great.  It was really comfortable and Cali enjoyed it as well :) even though she got nose prints all over the back windows.
