Loves to Play

Two of Cal's favorite things to do outside is swim and dig in sand and it is so great that she now has both within a 10 minute walk from our house.  

For me this is awesome because it involves a good walk for me and it wears her out.

Just A Start

As promised I have taken many pictures of the new house.  Of course it is definitely a work in progress so the walls are VERY white and everything is very bland but you better believe that I will be working on projects and getting things up on the walls.

I left out the formal family room because there is nothing in it and it is an empty hardwood floor room.  Will post some when we get something in there.

New Plates

I can't even begin to describe how frustrating the entire process we have gone through to get my car title changed with new plates.  The process started in June when we went down to FL to get my new drivers license and try and get the title but for some reason having the original title wasn't enough and they had to actually physically see the VIN number of the car, but since we lived in VA and now FL, we had to go back to VA and take my car to a police station to have an officer see the VIN number and sign off on it.  Then we had to mail in A BUNCH on paperwork to the DMV in FL and of course they didn't tell us we were missing some minor paperwork until I called them to see what was going on.  Nothing like waiting till the last minute, we had to overnight the paperwork (most expensive sheet of paper I have ever seen) along with another envelope for them to express mail back the plates and title because we needed it that week since we were moving.  Well, FINALLY, we have the title and plates and everything is good again!!!

We Made It!

I am sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything but we have obviously been busy with the move.

About a week ago from now we were starting to do some intense packing.  We pretty much packed up our entire apartment in 3-4 days.  Cali on the other hand was quite a trooper but is a little traumatized.  She made multiple trips to Lowe's and Home Depot with us...

But she also followed us everywhere around the apartment and laid on everything she could that was still there that she knew.  Including her beloved chair..

But she will get better with time.  

This move was the most organized and well packed move I have made to date.  Everything was in a box and they were ALL labeled and color coded.  It made it so much easier to unpack. 

We have made it to Cherry Point, NC and all thanks to Mike and Joni, we have all boxes unpacked and we are settling in just fine.  The journey was long and tiring but we survived.  After an 8 hour day of packing the U-Haul and cars and then driving the 6 hours down...

Last time driving past the Stafford exits... Garrisonville was toward the base and Aquia was were our apartment was

 followed by unpacking for a solid day, it is starting to look like a home.  So far it is 100% better than VA.  There may not be any more to do here than in Stafford, but we do have very friendly neighbors, the beach, a yard to work in, and a much larger house for Cali to run around and play and not drive me crazy when she pulls out ALL of the toys! We do have mostly hardwood floors so she does not get traction and she has yet to figure out how to run around without slipping. But she loves the yard!

Attack!

It has been a long time since we have gone on a run.. we just have been so busy and quite frankly lazy as well.  I am one of those people that if I don't workout before lunch time, it is not going to get done unless I am totally forced.  Well yesterday I had a weird desire to go running at almost dinner time! I have been wanting to go to Prince William National Park so we finally decided to try it out.  

While driving there, it is really all woods... the woods of Quantico which is haunting Q from all the training exercises he has done in them.  But they had trails everywhere!! These trails brought back so many memories of running on horse trails in Ohio during cross country and track just not muddy. 

It was all fun and dandy as we ran and stopped every so often to read the signs and of course take pictures. Don't mind the blurriness, I guess I should run with the camera instead of he iPhone next time haha.

The only problem with this idea to go to the park/woods was that we came out with an infestation of small baby baby ticks all over our legs.  Mainly the right leg so we must have stepped in a nest.  Needless to say I am terrified that they are growing on me even though Q really inspected my legs.  There were at least 50 on me at first.  After showering and scrubbing our legs, I am hoping we got them. 

Playing Hard

We decided that it had been a while since we had taken Cali to the river, and that we were tired of packing so we took our usual Friday trip to the river.

Except for some reason today Cali wasn't as much interested in the water as she was the leaves that we blowing down the beach/sand...

Q also taught her how to dig holes today... this might have been a very bad thing to start but we are hoping she only thinks she can do this in the sand and not in grass otherwise we will be investing in a sand pit soon.

I think she will sleep the rest of the night now! Thanks river!!!
