First you just start with a plan wood letter, I found mine on HobbyLobby.com and I was glad that it was so thin and light weight. You also will need some jute or twine.
First think about how you want the finish product to look and start covering the opposite way. This step doesn't have to be perfect since it is going to be on the very bottom and it is mostly there to keep the top layer of jute in place.
Then you start working the top layer. I wanted the jute to be going horizontal on the finished product so I started vertical to cover the top and bottom of the H and then started to go horizontal to cover the sides.
I put glue on the sides and edges where I wanted to make sure that the jute did not more. The smallest amount is all that is necessary so it is not a big blob of glue that you can see.
Once it was finished, I made a little bow out of ribbon and then attached it with hot glue and then attached the hanging ribbon at the height I wanted it. This turned out to be one of my favorite projects so far and can be used any time of the year.
I like it! And I bet you could dress it up with each holiday season. Very nice.
